O. ME.P.S. S. p.a. manufacturer of road tankers for the transport of liquids, requires Techno DESIGN modification of an existing project of tanker designed to increase the load volume of up to 42m3; often, in fact, makes it necessary to carry more of the 39m3 available (on the large). The solution of more immediate feedback, that is, the increase in the longitudinal diameter, that would imply that adding an additional section to the vehicle, but with a consequent loss of manoeuvrability to guide and maneuver.
The issue presented is not so simple and immediate solution since the redesign of the project is to be bound to the length of the vehicle, the diameter of the tank, to the angles of the cones of the exhaust positioned on the bottom of the siloveicolo and the step between the axles.
The constraints are considerable; in the first instance it is assumed the modification of the geometry of the flanges of the exhaust cones.
The proposed solution consists in the roundness of the flanges, which allows a significant recovery of the volume; however, the adoption of this single change does not allow the achievement of the objectives.
A further solution is found in changing the profile of the calendering of the cone.
It is first proceeded with the elongation of the flanges of the exhaust on the bottom of the tank (specifically, the front flange of 300mm and rear 150). To further increase the volume of cargo, it was then possible to modify the profile of the calendering of the cones.

For the construction of the cistern, frame and all the structural parts of the silo vehicle, is adopted metal sheet of aluminum in order to limit the weight and to ensure adequate structural rigidity.
